Do you want to be a part of an international company with an ambitious climate agenda and contribute to setting the course for shipping decarbonisation? And do you want to take the next exciting step in the direction of your professional growth?

NORDEN is looking for a Decarbonisation Specialist to join the Decarbonisation & Climate Solutions team in Copenhagen. We are working with our Climate Commitments centered around decarbonising our customers’ supply chains and expanding our use of sustainable fuels. Please find more information: Climate and environment (norden.com).

What is in it for you
As our Decarbonisation Specialist, you will get the opportunity to make a direct impact on the industry by guiding both internal and external stakeholders in reducing emissions and witnessing the real-world results of your efforts.

In Decarbonisation & Climate Solutions you will be joining a team of committed colleagues with different backgrounds within sustainable shipping. Together with your team, you will ensure annual reductions in GHG emissions and help NORDEN towards the goal of being net-zero by 2050.

Through interaction with various departments in NORDEN and collaboration with external partners, you will gain a great network within the industry. You will be responsible for bringing your knowledge of fuel efficiency and decarbonisation into play and make it understandable for stakeholders on different levels and areas.

You will also collaborate closely with the leading independent maritime research center, Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping, on relevant topics leading the way for low emission shipping.

The tasks that await you
You will get the chance to advance your toolbox within decarbonisation, in a practical setting contributing to making a real impact and driving the transformation in an informal and social environment. You already hold knowledge within the field, but we can also teach you even more.

Proactively you will support internal and external stakeholders to help reduce customers’ carbon footprint. To be more concrete the tasks will include:

  • Overseeing and optimising fuels and emissions data quality and reporting.

  • Engage with fuel providers to understand the latest available sustainable fuels on the market.

  • Collaborating with our commercial departments, ship owners and technical managers to plan and facilitate bunkering of biofuels on NORDEN operated ships and manage biofuel contracts.

  • Collaborating with external partners on projects to accelerate the green transition in the maritime industry.

  • Offering support to our commercial departments with your knowledge of sustainability and decarbonisation.

Your competences and core qualifications

We are looking for a colleague who is curious and wants to expand their knowledge in a global and innovative environment. To thrive in this position, you should be able to tick off the following:

  • You can convey technical topics to people with different backgrounds.
