Kickstart your career at NORDEN

Your first step in to the world’s most exciting industry

As part of our mission to deliver smarter global trading solutions, NORDEN has formed partnerships with various universities all over the world. Through these, we offer input to the academic curriculum, participate with lectures and arrange company visits and projects. We also offer internships and graduate roles for students and graduates who we believe can contribute to the future of our industry.

NORDEN has previously relied on a Shipping Trainee Programme for developing young talent from high schools for traditional shipping roles, but we are now more focused on attracting academic profiles who want to contribute with their unique skills and can challenge how we do business.

Below, you will find three ways to become part of NORDEN during your education.

Interns

NORDEN offers internships as part of our commercial programmes with selected universities. As an intern, you will become part of a commercial, technical or analytical team while you continue to fulfil the curriculum set by your university. Typically, interns at NORDEN will write their thesis on a subject or challenge related to our business.

Graduates

As a graduate with a shipping or business degree, NORDEN offers a strong structure to build your profile as a high-level shipping professional. Depending on your degree, NORDEN will design a development programme to meet and develop a set of competencies that is most relevant to you.

A development programme is typically two years in length and includes rotations to various commercial and analytical functions and possibly experience abroad, either as secondments or shorter rotational assignments. If a graduate does not possess theoretical shipping knowledge, NORDEN has partnerships with various institutions which can supplement their education during a development programme (e.g. the Danish Shipping Academy). We enrol graduates several times a year globally.

Student assistants

As a student assistant, you will become part of a community where you will be able to contribute to the business by finding practical applications for your theoretical education and by sharing knowledge with other student assistants and colleagues in the organisation. We look to relevant universities for inspiration for ways to transform our business, and as a student assistant, you will therefore experience a high degree of influence in a flat organisation.

Being a Student Assistant in NORDEN is not only about putting knowledge to work, it is also about making new friendships and creating fun memories together. Begin your career at NORDEN and take part in an exciting student community.
