Enter the centre of NORDEN’s fuel strategy, where your commercial instinct, market insight and ability to build long‑lasting relationships contribute to how we negotiate and purchase bunkers for our global fleet.

To strengthen our Far East Bunker desk, we are looking for an experienced Senior Bunker Manager to join our team in Suntec City, Singapore.

In this frontline, market facing role you will enhance our Far East bunker desk in Singapore, executing spot trading, negotiating competitive supplier terms and optimising post fixture outcomes across trades.

In a market defined by shifting geopolitical dynamics, bunkers play a critical role for both operators and charterers, making your work highly meaningful and strategically important.

What is in it for you
Collaborating with teams in Asia, Europe and the US, you will turn market insights into executable trades by taking initiative and exercising clear decision-making.

You will be part of a collaborative and empowering organisation with an international footprint. With skilled functions like risk management and decarbonation by your side, you can focus on high quality commercial decision making and long-term value. Your primary stakeholders will be operators and charterers from NORDEN’s different offices.

Reporting to the Head of Bunkers you will be responsible for negotiating and purchasing bunkers for vessels employed by NORDEN worldwide. This is done in collaboration with an efficient team of five other employees located in Copenhagen, Annapolis and Singapore. Two are located in the Singapore office.

Our culture centres on trust, accountability and enabling people to deliver at their highest level.

The tasks that await you
You will be working in a busy, deadline-driven environment, handling several deals and tasks at once. You will be expected to profitably use your market knowledge and use data to plan and carry out strategy, business plans, budgets and projects related to the Bunkers department.

These are the core responsibilities that define the role:

  • Spot bunker trading and day-to-day procurement.
  • Negotiation of bunker contracts and commercial terms.
  • Post-fixture optimisation across voyages and trades.
  • Handling and resolution of bunker-related claims (quantity, quality, delays).
  • Engaging directly with suppliers and counterparties operating in the Singapore / Far East market.
  • Close collaboration with chartering, operations and global bunker colleagues.

Additionally, as decarbonisation becomes an increasingly important part of our bunker strategy, we are looking for someone who is genuinely curious and prepared to expand their knowledge in areas such as biofuel trading, feedstocks and supply structures and the fast‑evolving regulatory and compliance landscape. You should enjoy diving into new knowledge and turning it into practical impact.

Since engaging with stakeholders is important, you should be prepared for occasional business travel.

Your core skills and qualifications
You are someone who leans forward and quickly gets a feel for how things work in an environment where priorities shift often, like ours. At NORDEN, no two days look the same and you thrive in that environment, jumping in with curiosity.

You build reliable working relationships across by staying approachable, ask questions and solve problems before they grow, responding quickly to unexpected shifts in plans, which are common in shipping.

Besides this you hold:

  • Solid experience within marine fuel / bunker trading or procurement.
  • Solid understanding of the Singapore / Far East bunker market.
  • Good knowledge of pricing mechanisms, benchmarks, and premiums.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term commercial relationships.
  • Sound business acumen and commercial judgement.

Application
