As our new Category Manager, you will leave your mark on how we manage indirect spend across NORDEN. The suggestions you offer will be appreciated, altering our methods for managing indirect spend within NORDEN. In this position, you will work alongside stakeholders throughout the organisation, implement strategic projects and create new value by taking advantage of our global scope.

We are looking for a person willing to learn, is a skilled communicator, great at servicing stakeholders and collaborates effectively with others. Possessing the right values is vital, as well as an interest in procurement and a motivation to improve the Indirect categories and the journey toward Procurement's maturity.

You will find yourself facilitating global meetings, digging deep into numbers, presenting to Senior Leaders and occasionally leading change projects.

Your efforts in formulating category strategies, establishing effective pipelines and improving our procurement processes will play a crucial role in shaping NORDEN’s operations and development.

The task that awaits you
You will lead a variety of sourcing projects across NORDEN. Some from our established pipeline, others sparked by stakeholder collaboration. In this role within a streamlined Procurement team, you will work in partnership with the business to formulate category strategies and stay engaged throughout the sourcing journey.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing end-to-end category management, identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency.
  • Applying supplier and spend management techniques to understand costs and accountability.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders early to deliver sourcing strategies focused on Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Acting as a trusted partner. Leveraging scale, challenging specifications and guiding commercial decisions.
  • Running sourcing projects from initiation to completion, including contract negotiations that balance cost, value and risk.
  • Managing supply chain risk through due diligence and ongoing supplier monitoring using our procurement tools.

Besides this you are a team player who enjoys sparring, with a drive to create results across the team and the desire to build a great atmosphere with your colleagues that will lead to the team’s success.

You also bring:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Indirect Procurement, with exposure to multiple sub-categories, such as: IT, Communications, Data licensing, HR, Legal, consulting, etc.
  • Project management and analytical skills, having strong communication skills and you enjoy solving problems.
  • An eye for optimisation and a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • A relevant education in Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Skills in Excel and presentation tools.
