WIS-Denmark announces Jan Rindbo, CEO, NORDEN, Maria Pejter, Head of HR, A.P. Møller Holding and Anders Brahe, Partner, Implement Consulting Group as advisory board members of the network, alongside founders Claire-Celine Ancher Bausager and Neele Pawlowski. WIS-Denmark will thus draw on a diverse panel of highly driven professionals well acquainted with the issues at hand nationally and internationally, and all sourced to inspire an internal as well as an external perspective on the industry.
After initiating the WIS-Denmark network in autumn 2019 membership numbers has gone up and beyond expectation. With an expectancy of 50 attending the very first meeting, it was quite the surprise when 170 women from 49 companies showed up. Today the network has 427 members.
The ambition for WIS-Denmark is to act as a catalyst for diversity and gender equality in the maritime industry, connecting women in shipping, across position, seniority and segments. The network seeks to shed light on some of the blind spots, which female employees may encounter in a traditionally male-dominated industry and increase awareness of the career opportunities in the maritime industry. An increased focus on diversity is essential for the industry to have access to the full talent pool, which is essential to foster growth for the sector.
“With NORDEN in a transition to become more data-driven and trading focused, the need to attract the right talents is larger than ever. This means access to the full talent pool,” says Jan Rindbo, CEO, NORDEN. “We have time and again seen that diverse teams perform better and I am therefore honored to join WIS-Denmark, helping to ensure that diversity remains a key topic for the industry.”
“As a woman having worked more than 20 years in our industry, I know first-hand the impact a solid network and strong rolemodels have. WIS-Denmark brings together women, who are passionate about our industry and want to build successful careers. Giving these women the tools to succeed and access to strong rolemodels is what WIS-Denmark aims to do, and I am honored to be asked to contribute to that journey as a member of the WIS-Denmark advisory board.” Says Maria Pejter, Head of HR, A.P. Møller Holding
“So many companies want to harvest the benefits of a truly diverse workforce, but struggle to make real change. Real change is rolled up – not out – and WIS-Denmark brings together women that can make the change happen. I am honored to join the advisory board and help WIS-Denmark become a catalyst for action and real change” Says Anders Brahe, Partner, Implement Consulting Group
“We are honored to have been able to attract an outstanding array of diverse individuals with deep industry knowledge and business expertise in a variety of areas spanning from HR, strategy consultancy and business management, setting the stage for further growth and evolvement”. Says Claire-Celine Ancher-Bausager and is supported by co-founder Neele Pawlowski “We are immensely proud to have such a talented group of individuals joining the Advisory Board, bringing with them significant knowledge and experience from different areas and perspectives which will contribute greatly to WIS-Denmark and our mission to make a positive contribution to the future of our industry”
WIS is already a success in Denmark and with the overwhelming support in new members and acknowledgements, WIS can easily see an international future ahead of them and are now expanding into countries such as Singapore and UAE.
