As the Financial Reporting Lead your primary obligation will be to lead the team responsible for reporting and controlling of accounting transactions, all while ensuring continuous improvement of the area and the ways of working, promoting quality and proactively engaging with stakeholders.

The position is located at our headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark.

Professional exposure towards the global maritime industry
You will report to the Head of Corporate Finance and join our Corporate Finance team currently consisting of 18 colleagues working with accounting, financial reporting and consolidation as well as finance projects. Two employees working with reporting and consolidation will report to you.

Your role will include the task of maintaining the team's well-being, ensuring motivation levels remain high, and that the members have access to the essential tools and resources required for effective contribution. As a manager, it is crucial to strike the right balance between being hands-on and providing your team members with the autonomy to apply their expertise in their work.

You will be responsible for perpetually optimizing and streamlining workflows to heighten efficiency and eliminate extraneous processes. Stakeholder management in an international setting, across time zones, is also a big part of the position.This is where you, together with the team, get to interact closely with stakeholders to ensure accurate financial accounting and reporting.

The tasks that await you
As our future Financial Reporting Lead, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering financial reports and consolidation at a group level guaranteeing accurate and timely reporting for key decision-makers.

  • Handling the relationship, coordination, and communication with external auditors. Being the link between the auditors’ requests and internal information.

  • Identifying and solving arising accounting issues while maintaining expertise in complex accounting areas such as hedging and lease accounting, impairments, etc.

  • Controlling financial data to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial reports to prevent discrepancies. Involving hands-on engagement in the processes and actively detecting and correcting errors.

Your competencies and core qualifications
We are looking for a colleague who enjoys and naturally is methodically approaching tasks, ensuring attention to detail.

Furthermore, to excel in this role, you should be equipped with the following capabilities:

  • You hold great English skills.

  • You hold a master’s degree or equivalent to this in economics, finance or similar.

  • You hold a minimum of 6 years of proven experience in financial reporting, controlling, or auditing for a large to medium-sized company.

  • You hold a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in the area of accounting, audit etc.

  • You hold an in-depth understanding of IFRS and financial consolidation practices. You have experience identifying and addressing challenges related to complex or unusual transactions, ensuring correct financial treatment is applied.
