Our office in Annapolis is expanding and we are now looking for an experienced dry bulk Operator to join the team. You are a US Citizen or a US Green Card Holder, and want to work for a leading shipping company within dry cargo and product tankers.

The job

As an Operator in NORDEN’s Dry Cargo division you independently operate a group of vessels. This includes but is not limited to; monitoring, measuring, and optimizing the performance of vessels, agent and port nominations, as well as daily contact and coordination with vessels, agents, Charterers and Owners to ensure a smooth operation.

We are heavily client focused with an aim to increase efficiency and productivity, while also reducing voyage expenses and cost control. We are heavily focused on being a reliable and quality partner while building strong and long-term relationships with our customers and counterparts. Some travelling is expected.

Your profile

You have minimum of three years shipping experience in bulk operations ashore. Any sailing experience with general and/or project cargo operations will be considered an asset. You thrive in a competitive environment where relationships and P&L are equally prioritized. You enjoy taking responsibility and ownership; demonstrating your ability to optimize voyages and delivering a high-quality service to our customers.

As NORDEN enters the digital age, a key quality will be your understanding and knowledge of various systems and processes. Experience with IMOS and SEDNA is considered an asset. You are inquisitive, results driven, and a strong problem solver who is comfortable in a challenging and fast paced environment. Agility is a must.

Being part of a small team; you are collaborative, trustworthy and reliable. You are focused on strong performance and overall team development and success. You should also be self-driven, independent and maintain ownership over your fleet of vessels, projects, and assignments.
